How to recognize quality in the world of nutritional supplements
The market for nutritional supplements is enormous – from supermarkets to pharmacies and online stores. But how do you know if a supplement is truly good? Even two products with nearly identical ingredient lists can differ in purity, absorbability, and reliability.
Checklist – What should you pay attention to?
- Ingredients List – Avoid long lists of fillers and colorings.
- Dosage – Check that at least one active substance is present in sufficient quantity.
- Absorption – Choose easily absorbable forms (e.g. magnesium bisglycinate instead of magnesium oxide, or soluble orthosilicic acid instead of silicon dioxide).
- Origin and Production – Prefer certified production with a known source, such as IFS or GMP
- Quality assurance – Ask for independent test reports and certificates.
- Composition – Smart combinations reinforce each other’s effect.
- Price – Too cheap 'can' indicate lower quality.
