Silicon
What is Silicium?
After oxygen, Silicium is the most abundant element on Earth. It's found everywhere in nature: in quartz rocks, clay, sand, and plants like nettles and horsetail. Our food also contains Silicium, including whole grains, green beans, red lentils, dried dates, bananas, and mangoes.

The role of Silicium
Silicium plays a major role in building and repairing the structural elements in hair, skin, and nails. It's an essential mineral for structural proteins like keratin (in hair and nails) and collagen (in skin). More structure means stronger hair, fewer wrinkles, and stronger nails.
Why does Ba'sil pay attention to Silicium?
Decreased absorption with age: As we age, our body's ability to absorb Silicium decreases.
Poor diet: Our daily diet contains less and less Silicium, partly due to the refining of foods.
Poor solubility: In its natural form, highly concentrated Silicium is difficult for the body to absorb because it is not soluble in water.
Preferably a well-absorbable Silicium
Not all Silicium is the same. We choose a water-soluble and easily absorbed form: OSA (ortho-silicic acid). We call it the more active Silicium, hence our name ba'sil.

Why a stable Silicium form?
Although orthosilicic acid is soluble in water, it's difficult to maintain stability. Combining it with collagen creates a natural and effective approach, ideal for skincare thanks to the "anti-wrinkle protein" collagen.
Our ba'sil products contain Collasil® , an innovative formula with bioactive silicic acid and fish collagen. Collasil® is produced in Monaco and is a powdered Silicium with excellent absorption, which has been scientifically proven! (ref. 1)
This differs from traditional Silicium sources, such as bamboo or nettle powders, which contain mainly Silicium dioxide and are less well absorbed by the body.
